Toybank

Finally...we were a part of a Toybank event. Last Saturday on the 12th of Nov , AIESEC had organised a mega event on the occasion of childrens day at Andheri, with nearly 8-9 NGO's invited and more than 1000 kids present. A lot of other popular NGO's were a part of the event too like Shikshan prasthan, Diksha Project etc. The food was sponsored by ISKCON Food Relief Project. There were people from UNICEF also present there.

And Toybank was their Toy partner. We a group 5-6 volunteers were representing Toybank at the event alongwith the Toybank owner Shweta Chari( an amazing girl with down to earth attitude, she was also the MTV YOuth ICON) and one of the Borad of Directors of Toybank and a former AEISEC member ,Purab Kohli (ex-Channel [V] VJ from the ROCK ON fame. There was a Talent show and a magic show for kids, followed by Toy distribution by Toybankers ;)

Some Tidbits from the events.....

We were really really happy to be a part of this mega event , the smile u get to see wen the kids recieve the toys is justt out of the world. But more than the joy of the children receiving the toys its the act of giving that is truly wonderful.
Toybank i believe is doing a fantastic job and Kudos to Shweta for coming upwith such a phenomenal idea. Toybank has recently opened a branch in UK too and already has branches in Banglore, Delhi & pune...In a span of of just 6 years this organisation has grown tremendously and has reached out to lakhs of kids all over India and abroad .Congrats to them. Hope they continue doing such fantastic work.

Now we can say proudly....

I am a Toybanker ;)
